PHOTOWALK JULY 20, 2024

The ebb and flow of creativity can be difficult. One session you’re up and the next you’re down, and it is a natural pattern but somehow I forget how hard the lows are and how fleeting the highs are. To get me through I keep my thoughts on the positive but still allow myself to feel through the negative. I don’t think it gets easier, but if you love doing something then the journey is worth it

PHOTOWALK JULY 13 2024

For this walk I decided to go straight to the top of the Hill as the sun was setting and it was shining really beautiful golden light through the crowd. On my way back down I went around the Falls by the outdoor theater where I stumbled across some really nice shots of cars and people driving by. People love showing off their rides on the HIll, and surprisingly a lot of dogs too

Finding the right time to go for a photowalk can be a challenge. Life happens and not every day is the same depending on weather conditions. I usually find myself preferring day time walks but sometimes things happen and the sun goes down. Luckily, in a city that never sleeps, there are fun lights everywhere

PHOTOWALK JUNE 24 2024

Second photowalk of Summer 2024 starting off way stronger. It was almost a fail due to the fact that I was only going to bring an Instax Evo Mini and lighting was really low but luckily Rain was using a Sony. He switched with me about half way through and then I started having more fun. Using both cameras really gives a nice gear comparison with a range of quality. I might try the Instax later in much brighter lighting to see if it responds better

CLIFTON HILL ON LABOUR DAY

The end of summer 2023 was around the corner and Labour Day feels like an unofficial end to summer so I had to be at the Hill. I got there a little late so I was overthinking my time there but it ended up being a super fun time walking around with Rain, being around the Falls, the people and the energy as the last hurrah before September

NIGHT OF ART

Niagara Falls has an event once a year called The Night of Art at the end of summer. I brought my camera along to see if anything catches my eye. I didn’t get many candids but I did ask a few artists to pose for a quick portrait. One being my friend, Mandy and 2 other women that I met that night who I had struck up conversation with, Trish with the beautiful paintings and Olga with her cute puppies

BIRD KINGDOM

A place that I have always wanted to go to was the Bird Kingdom. It’s a small spot near the Falls that I’ve always seen ads for but never took the time to go to. 2023 was the year of exploring around the Falls more so I had to make it happen. I’m so happy that I went when I did. I brought along a new lens to sweeten the experience and it did not disappoint

PHOTOWALK 4

All of my work, shooting and walking has finally shown a breakthrough with this session. This photo with the man and his child was well worth the couple of hours walking around the Falls that day and the numerous hours I have been putting in for summers prior. Seeing this shot was a surreal moment of relief, gratitude and joy. Overall, I was able to get some really great photos this day and it really signaled to me that I was well on my path and fulfilling my vision
