PHOTOWALK 2

The hardest part of getting better at something is putting in the hours. There was a couple months between this walk and the last, and I thought a new location would render better results but it was pretty much the same. I didn’t have enough hours under my belt so my expectations were too high. I enjoy these photos and share them to show not every creative session will give you amazing shots, but it will always make you better than never trying at all

PHOTOWALK 1

I was determined to find local areas to shoot and get better acquainted with my camera. My local downtown seemed intimidating, there’s not a lot of people walking through but I needed to practice, chase light and see what catches my eye. In terms of people I couldn’t capture what I wanted, but I couldn’t leave empty handed so this is more of a cityscape study rather than a street photography one. Either way, much needed experience walking in the streets with my camera

CASA LOMA STEPS

Frames are fleeting. If you don’t get out there with your camera you will miss moments but it's not possible to be everywhere. This motivates me to shoot more and admire other photographers more. This shot on Casa Loma steps could be replicated tons of times, but I find the yellow van makes this image unique matching the sunlight on the building complimenting the cold blue tones present on this very cold Toronto day

QUARANTINE WALK

Covid lockdowns was dark and a challenge to navigate. I did my best to be patient during these very trying times. One way was to shoot but locations were limited. It was kind of discouraging, not feeling much inspiration, but in hindsight I’m grateful for any opportunity to press the shutter
